Jeff Bezos was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on January 12, 1964. Jeff’s father, Ted Jorgensen, was a unicyclist who had moved to Albuquerque from Colorado. Jeff’s mother, Jacklyn Gise Jorgensen, was an aspiring writer who stayed at home to raise Jeff and his younger brother Mark.

Jeff showed an early interest in computers and how they worked. When he was thirteen years old, his parents divorced, and Jeff went to live with his mother in Houston, Texas. Jeff finished high school a year early and went on to study physics at Princeton University.
